Programs - Check!!

Yep, Drew and I finished the programs yesterday. I was so proud of him. He sat next to me and stuffed and tied them with ribbon. All 125 of them! They look so pretty in the basket with the ribbon sticking out. I'm a happy camper!!

Do you want to know what's left?? Not a lot!!
* Coloring books
* Pack all wedding stuff in tubs
* Finish wrapping GM, reader, and my mom's gifts
* Clean the apartment
* Begin packing for wedding night and honeymoon

Um, ya, I think that's it. Drew and I only have to work today and tomorrow. (BIG YAY!!!!!) Then family starts arriving on Wednesday. It's so close!!!

5 days!!!!

Time is Flying

I'm a couple of days late, but that's ok. I did have a very productive wedding planning weekend. My sister stayed the night Saturday night since we did a girls night. Sunday morning, I roused Drew and Rachel out of bed at 11:15 (!!!!). Yes, unbelievably, I let them sleep that long. Granted we didn't go to bed until 3 or so, so I figured I'd be nice. I, on the other hand, was up at 9. Ehhhh, whatever!!!

Anyways, they woke up and we made breakfast. Drew sat down and watched the Bears game. (Arrrgghh stupid Bears! Why do you have to go and play so stupid! Dontcha know that you piss Drew off and then I have to deal with him being all pissy?!?!) I worked on scoring the program paper and Rachel started working on painting the I DO letters. They have already been painted red but I wanted to do something more to them. I thought that painting some silver swirls on them would look really cool. But, for some reason, it just wasn't turning out the way that I pictured it. So Rachel and I sat there trying to figure out what to do with them next. I suggested rhinestones but I wasn't completely sold on that idea. Then, Rachel suggested that we have the guests sign them. Oh, AMAZING!!! It's been decided, the guests will sign either the guestbook, or the letters, or both, and then afterwards we can hang the letters on the wall somewhere. I just have to find some silver extra fine sharpies. That should be fun.

Then, my sister went to work on the bubbles. I was originally going to just put the labels on them, but we thought they looked too bare. Rachel said she would tie the ribbon so I jumped on that offer. Isn't she cute?
The finished product:
It's kind of a crappy picture. I am slowly learning that I will never take good pictures. Where's Drew when I need to post stuff?

I finished scoring all of the program paper and have begun cutting and assembling the programs.

(As a little side note: I'm watching A Wedding Story on TLC and I keep getting so choked up! I'm going to be a mess on my wedding day!)

And for a final picture, just because they are so freaking cute:
11 days!!! I am just so damn giddy!!!

Favors - Check!!

I spent my Friday night assembling the rest of the favors. Ya, I'm pretty lame! But I can't tell you how happy I am that they are done. So, for your viewing pleasure, our favors....
Awww, aren't they cute?? Now that I'm looking at them in the picture, I kinda wish that I'd used a little thicker ribbon. Oh well, I'm still happy with them.

My next project is assembling the programs. I might start them tomorrow or Sunday and hopefully have them completed by next weekend. I'd like to have everything done by next weekend so that I don't really have any projects to tackle the week of the wedding. I'd like to simply have the extremely small details left at that point. So far, so good!

Unproductive

I didn't get didley squat done yesterday!

Maybe that's an exaggeration, but I do feel like I hardly made a dent in the list that I had. I did purchase all of the materials to make the favors. Now it's just a matter of assembling them. I got all of the cover paper scored, and hole punched 25 out of 125. Only 100 left... woo hoo!!! I also finished the programs. I'm pretty sure that I'm finished with those, so now I just have to get them printed. I am not looking forward to the task of assembling programs.

In order to assemble the programs, here's what I have to do. Since I'm making booklets, I wanted the inside paper to be smaller than the cover paper. So, I'll have to cut 1/2 inch off of each of those pages. There are three pages. Then, I'll have to score each of those pages to get a nice clean fold. Then, I have to measure and hole punch the inside pages. I'll then insert those pages inside the cover paper and finally, tie a ribbon to attach the two. 125 times!! Ack!!!

I still have to make coloring books for the kids. I've found a template that I may just modify for our wedding. But that still involves a good deal of work. I'll probably make 15 or 20 of those.

I've got so much to do, if only work didn't get in the way of it!!

My Camera Found It's Home

Guess what day it is?? Guess what that means??

Yep, you guessed it. Another Wednesday. And another productive wedding day. I also got my camera back so I can finally post some pictures. As you may remember, I had my first shower on the 7th. This shower was co-hosted by my sister (MOH) and my aunt (the one who is doing our cake). This is the only picture that I have from the day. Hopefully I can track someone down who has more. Anyways, here's me and my sister.
My aunt also made our card box and surprised me with it at the shower. How freakin' adorable is this??
She told me to pass it on to whomever is getting married after me, and that person should then pass it on to the next person. I said that we should put our names and wedding dates on the bottom as a way to track who and when. Then we can really see what a small world this is, right?

I took our red cover paper to the printer today to get our monogram printed on the front. I am quite pleased with how they turned out. (It's got that shiny spot because the flash was on.)
After getting the monogram printed, I came home and worked on the insides of the program. I have to add a bunch of things and now I've got to fix all the spacing. Gah, and I thought I was done with them! Haha!!

Program Pictures

I thought that I'd post some pictures of the extremely rough mock-up of the programs that I've done. Keep in mind, this is a rough copy.

So, ya, they are extremely rough, but for the most part, they're done. I like them, and I've spent a good amount of time on them. They still need some tweaking on the front. I like putting our monogram on the front, I just haven't figured out how I like it yet.

Drew's wedding present is in one week. I'm so excited!!!

Oh ya, and 86 days until the wedding. Not that anyone is counting though!

Sometimes Checks Are More Work...

The mail is the best part of my day. Always has been. Even though I'm older now and most of the mail is either bills or credit cards offers, I still love mail time. Today was especially fantastic because I got two, count 'em two, packages. The first one was the paper that I ordered for the programs. I'm not 100% pleased with it, but it'll do. The other package was the lingerie that I ordered from Fredericks for Drew's wedding present. And yes, I did squeal when I saw it! So I quickly scooped up the package and ran to the spare bedroom to check out what I got. After looking at it all, I shoved it all in a dance bag and came to spend some time with Drew and prepare dinner. Our neighbor came down for dinner with us, and now the boys are upstairs at his place playing Halo. I decided to check out what I ordered a little more closely and try it on. Here's where the problems begin....

I start taking out the bra and panty and garter belt set that I ordered and pull out the bra and look at it and think that it looks a little on the small side. I look at the size and what would you know?? Sure is a size too small. Ya, there is no way that my bewbs are gonna fit in it. Then I put the corset on and I could practically fit another person in there with me. Gah, I HATE not fitting into anything ever!!! So I frantically start searching for a customer service number to call and start dialing away. I come to find out that they are doing some inventory something or other and they won't be open again until Thursday. (They're hoping, by the way.) Crap!!!! It's just one more thing that I thought I had accomplished that I have to mess with now.

I put together a mock-up of our programs today. I still have some work to do to them. I discovered that I need to fix the margins and get different ribbon. We meet with Father Butler tomorrow night, so we can get his ok on the program.

And.... I had an interview today! He basically said that it was a good interview, but he didn't know if he wanted to go with somebody who had experience, or somebody like me, who was fresh out of school. Please, please, choose me! Pick me!! I'm the best choice!!! I know that God will bless me with the right job. He's just teaching me patience right now.

Check, check, and check!

A day off of work during the week means that I run errands for the wedding. Today was no different. I figured that it would take me most of the day, but I was happy to find that it only took 3 hours.

The only reason that I got motivated this morning was because I had an appointment to get my eyebrows done at 10. After that I ran to Gordman's to return a sweater. Then to Shoe Carnival to return the shoes that I was going to wear for the wedding. They were the cutest shoes ever to wear for the wedding, but they made my feet hurt so bad. So back they went and I'll just wear flats. Oh well, I'm short anyways. I did end up getting a cute pair of black pointy shoes to wear for my b-pics. Those are two weeks from today!! All my lingerie has been ordered and I think I'm all set with everything.

Then I ran to David's Bridal to buy another color swatch since my mom lost the one that I already bought. I also found out that Sarah's dress is in. Woo hoo!!

Then, it was off to Rockford Rentals. I won a $50 gift certificate from a bridal expo that I went to. Nothing got accomplished there. Apparently some drunk loser drove his car through their display room wall and so they have no display room. Fantastic!! Now I've got to search around online.

Then I went to Kinko's to find out how much it would cost to print programs. To print them in color (which I'd like to do), it will be $.49 per side. I have two double sided pages. That's $1.96 per program. If I do 100, that's $196. Absolutely ridiculous!!! Black and white programs were significantly cheaper at about $40 all together. Bah, now what the heck do I do? Keep shopping around I guess.

And now, for the greatest news of all. I came home and finished the slideshow. I am so happy to have this done. It looks great and the music is pretty good. I'm happy. Now I just have to figure out how to burn the darn thing.

I'm off to work on names and addresses for my showers and bachelorette party.

Waiting, Sometimes Patiently

We keep chugging right along, getting closer and closer to the wedding. I'm still working on the slideshow. Drew's parents are working on pictures for me of him that I can add to it. My biggest hold up now is music. I have no idea what I want to use. I originally was going to do all of my pictures, then all of Drew's. But my mom suggested that I do a picture of me then a picture of Drew and alternate throughout the show. I like that idea a lot better, however that makes music a lot more difficult. Now I have to try to find something more gender neutral. I've got a couple of possibilities. I'm excited to reach the final product. Hopefully by the end of this week.

I ordered the cover paper for our programs yesterday. I believe that it should be getting shipped out today. It's coming from Minnesota so I should have it by early next week. I need to get some ribbon, which shouldn't be too hard. Then I have to decide how to print the insert pages. I'll probably simply go to Kinko's with the file and have them copy it. I need to call around for prices to find my best deal. I still need to make some tweaks to the actual material of the program before I get too excited about printing them. Right now, I have our first and second readings in there, and my mom is quite irritated that I don't have the Gospel. I told her to chill and it doesn't really matter that much. I could always add another page, but then I have to come up with three other pages of material, at which point our programs become small novels. We'll ask our priest and see what he has to say. I also want him to approve the programs before printing. With it being a Catholic ceremony (NOT MASS!!!), I don't want to mess up any of the wording. We meet with Father next Tuesday. At that point, we will have less than 3 months!!!

I actually received a call back from a resume that I submitted a couple weeks ago. At this point, just getting a call is exciting enough for me. He said that he was interested in scheduling an interview with me, but when I called him back, he was away from his calendar and told me that he would call back when he was in the office. Um, ya, no call, and it's almost 3:00 PM. And, I haven't heard from the guy here at the bank that I interviewed with two weeks, and he said I'd hear something last week. Sigh... I'm just destined to stay here.

Productivity

I love Sundays. It's the one day during the week that Drew and I get to sleep in together. Ok, well, I normally wake up somewhere between 8 and 9, put my contacts in, brush my teeth, and meander out to the living room to play on the computer and watch tv until a more decent hour. Then I go back into the bedroom and jump on the bed to wake Drew up. At this point, with annoyance in his eyes, he asks me what time it is. Normally I try to wait until at least the 10 o'clock hour so he doesn't hate me too much for jumping on the bed. This morning was no different. We decided to go get some breakfast since we didn't really have anything in the house to eat, so we went to Happy Joe's for their Sunday brunch. I wasn't too crazy about it, but Drew had a food-gasm over this breakfast pizza thing that had a whole bunch of nasty stuff on it that I normally wouldn't touch. Onions, mushrooms, green peppers... gross!!!

We came back home and Drew went to go help out a buddy doing a side job (translation: he went to go make some money so we aren't completely broke) and I decided that I was going to spend the afternoon working on programs for the wedding. This was around noon. 4 1/2 hours later, I finally finished the programs. They aren't completely finished, but I am very proud of them. And I managed to do my wifey duties and finished Drew's laundry too. All in all, it was a pretty productive day.

I had an interview last Tuesday and he said that I should hear something Tuesday at the earliest and Wednesday at the latest. Only 2 more days until Tuesday. The wait is killing me!!!
