Scripture passages for the week:
Proverbs 31 : 21 - When it snows, she has no fear for her household; for all of them are clothed in scarlet.
Proverbs 27 : 23 - Be sure you know the condition of your flocks, give careful attention to your herds.
Psalm 46 : 1-2 - God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,
Proverbs 31 : 22 - She makes coverings for her bed; she is clothed in fine linen and purple.
1 Timothy 2 : 9-10 - I also want women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, adorning themselves, not with elaborate hairstyles or gold or pearls or expensive clothes, but with good deeds, appropriate for women who profess to worship God.
1 Peter 3 : 3-4 - Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight.
The passages this week are telling me to put my family first and make sure that they are prepared for the changing seasons, or anything else that may arise in their lives. It is also important to be a beautiful person on the inside. God would rather us have inner beauty than flaunt outer beauty.
