Bath Time

Annelise's umbilical cord stump fell off on Saturday, so Drew and I decided to give her her first bath last night.  It was successfully traumatic for all those involved.  She screamed the entire time.  I'd actually like to know if there is a newborn who didn't scream the whole time during their first bath.

She also pooped all over the towel.

I'm really hoping that she'll start to enjoy her baths more.  Drew and I were thinking that maybe we should have the water warmer next time.  I bought a digital thermometer that displays the temperature of the water throughout her bath, and when I put her in the tub, it read 99*, which according to their recommendations is too warm.  However, our BIL, Eric, said that Wesley liked to take a bath in water that was around 102*.  So, maybe we'll experiment with it being a little warmer.

Please meet my daughter, Annelise Jean.

She was born Monday, April 2nd at 6:27 PM. She weighed 7 pounds 10 ounces and was 20 3/4 inches long.

Drew and I are totally and completely in love with her and could not be any happier.
