I got fired yesterday.
My boss called me into her office shortly after 10 AM (Gee, I'm sure glad they kept me around long enough for me to get everything done for them in the morning) yesterday morning. I sat down in her chair and she, very smugly, flipped over a piece of paper and handed it to me. The paper began by stating that they regretfully inform me that my position was being terminated. My boss said that they were letting me go and that it shouldn't come as a surprise. I continue to read through the letter as my boss is running her mouth saying something or another that I didn't really pay attention to. I had heard all I needed to.
I simply got up, while she was mid sentence, and walked out the door. There was a box on my desk (Thanks a lot!) and I packed up my things and left.
I actually surprised myself in the fact that I didn't say anything at all. And trust me, there were A LOT of choice phrases that I really wanted to vocalize. And if you know me, you know that me keeping my mouth shut when I'm being treated completely unfairly is a BIG DEAL!!!
I called my mom. And bawled. And I came home to tell Drew. And bawled. And then you know what I did?
I said, "Screw them!" and I decided that this is the best thing for me. Was I fired unjustly? Yes! Are we probably going to do something about it? Maybe. But this is going to give me the opportunity to do what I want to do.
And you know what? It did surprise me! I'm surprised that a woman can treat another woman so cruely. I'm surprised that I have been open and honest about my condition and about my fertility treatments and this is the way that I was treated. I'm suprised that this woman, who is a mother, can be so compassionless and heartless. I totally understand that this is the business world, but normally, employers will work with their employees. Especially when it's health issues. I could totally understand if I was screwing up, or if it was something from my doing. But this isn't.
I just keep telling myself . . . . KARMA IS A BITCH!

One is the Loneliest Number
I got my first taste of Drew being a flight mechanic this weekend. He called me Friday morning, while I was at work, to let me know that he would be going to California for a couple of days. His work scheduled his flight out and he left pretty immediately.
He flew to Phoenix where he had a connecting flight to Ontario, California. He said that it was beautiful out there. Unfortunately, he had to leave so quickly that he didn't remember the camera.
I can tell that he's missed me too, because he has called me and texted me incessantly. We're so not used to traveling on our own! :-)
He's on his way home now and I couldn't be happier. As nice as his paycheck will be, I would much rather have him working here than in another state.

Head's Up!
Drew had to work today, which isn't a big surprise. At about 10:30 this morning, he called me to let me know that he had to go to the doctor to get some stitches. Stitches!!!!
I guess that he was greasing a landing gear and stood up too fast. Which resulted in a pretty decent gash to his head. A gash that required 4 stitches.
After getting stitched up, he went back to work and completed his shift. Such a trooper, huh?
When he got home tonight, he showed me the accident report that he had to fill out.

"No damage to aircraft, just personnel"
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA ::breathe, breathe:: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
Some of you may remember that this isn't the first time that he's had to get stitches while he was working. At least he makes it memorable!

No More Secrets
If you remember here, I told you that I had a lot going on, but I couldn't reveal anything just yet. Well, the time has come. I can spill the beans.
As you probably know, I've worked at a bank since July 2007. I have never really enjoyed my job there. I enjoyed the work, but I, in no way, enjoyed the sales aspect of it. Hated it actually! Guess what? I got a new job. I was offered the position in September and have just been working both jobs since they are both part time.
Drew and I have decided that we want to go to Georgia for Thanksgiving again this year. We went in 2007, but we weren't able to go last year because of the wedding. Once I found out that the new job gave us the day after Thanksgiving off, we decided that we simply couldn't miss it again this year.
I worked my last day at the bank yesterday. It's sad to leave, but good to move on. I was promised to go full time in December at the new job. But have recently found out that it may not happen until January now. But we knew that, right? Companies always make promises and very rarely follow through. Oh, what I wouldn't give to work for a company that actually said what they meant and meant what they said.

Did Someone Say Slacker?
My wonderful hubby brought dinner home with him when he got off work. As we sat, eating our wonderful dinner of chinese for him and Burger King for me, he told me about his day at work. He's working 2nd shift hours at the moment and was complaining about some of the people that he has to work with. He was upset because he feels that some of the guys on that shift don't really pull their weight.
Of course, that got me thinking. I remember when I first starting working at the bank. I would come home after working all day and absolutely gush to Drew about how great it was that people actually did work there. It was fantastic that the office was clean and everything was in the spot it was supposed to be in. You see, before the bank, I worked in a retail store where I basically worked for three people on any given day. A lot of the workers there didn't know the meaning of hard work. The store was a disaster all the time. The bank was such a breath of fresh air. It still is that way. Everybody works like they should and, with the exception of trying to find a decent rubber band, everything is where it should be.

Ch-ch-ch Changes
I called Drew on my lunch break on Thursday afternoon. This is not an unusual occurrence. I like to have a mid-day chat with my hubby! It was then that he informed me that he would be moving to the weekend shift.
I think the world stood still for a moment.
Then, it started moving again. I was not impressed!! Drew will be working Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 6AM to 6PM.
He keeps trying to convince me that we'll still go out and do things. I am skeptical. Especially if he'll have to be up at 5AM to go to work. Grrrr.
And what makes me mad the most is that he starts next weekend. What's so bad about that, I hear you asking. My birthday is Friday and I requested Saturday off so we could have a weekend o' fun!! And now, my weekend o' fun will consist of Drew working.
Booooo!!!!! Have I mentioned that I'm not impressed with his place of employment at the moment?
I know, I know, it could be worse. At least he has a job. And for that, I'm grateful. Grateful, but not impressed.

Laugh of the Day
I was at work this morning and was working in the drive-thru like I usually do. A customer, a man, came to the window. I walked over to the window and began to put the drawer out.
Tania: "Hi, how are you today?"
Robert: "I'm fat and sassy! How are you?"
I laughed my ass off!!!! I told him that I was going to tell that to my father-in-law because it so sounds like something he would say. I'm still giggling about it!
Sometimes, I love my job! But very rarely.

Back to the Grind
Today was my first day back to work as a married woman. Ya, it wasn't that much fun! I did have one customer who knew that I was getting married ask how the honeymoon was. That is just so sweet. These people don't know squat about me. And I really don't know squat about them. But they remember these important things in my life. They actually put the effort into asking how things went. People who I get to see once or twice a week, and have 2 minute conversations with; they remember, and they care enough to ask. Cool!
Drew still had the day off of work. (Oh, what I wouldn't give to have a cool boss like that! His work, I'm sure, was stoked to have him take so much time off since they've been pretty slow anyways.) Drew took care of some more things that needed to get done around here.
Our dryer sucks, a lot. The final straw was yesterday. I did a load of towels and had to run the dryer 3 (!!!) times to get them dry. Actually, 3 times got them most of the way dry. I think that I actually did 3 1/2 times. Seriously though, that's ridiculous. Drew called the landlord today and they came over and put some new vents or something or another in and according to Drew, the fixed dryer dried his work uniforms in 20 minutes. I find that hard to believe. I'll believe it probably tomorrow when I resume doing laundry.
And, at this point in time, I am very sick of laundry!! Vacations are fun until you have to come home and wash all of the laundry. Plus, add in work clothes and towels, and that's a ton of stuff to wash. I have not been a fan of doing the laundry because of that stupid dryer. So, maybe now it won't be so bad.
Drew also went down to the county clerk's office and picked up some copies of our marriage certificate. Now, I can officially begin the process of changing my name. I'm pretty excited. I'm anxious to have this process over. I know that it's going to take some time. It's tough being in such a state of limbo. I'm not sure whether to be Tania Oldlastname or Tania Newlastname. I feel like I don't really have a name right now. Can I just be Tania? Without a last name? And, it's probably going to get a little worse before it gets better. Think, I'm going to go on Wednesday and change my social security card and my drivers license. Then, I have to call and change all of my credit cards, insurance, bank stuff, debit cards, bills, everything. I'm going to be this person with two different last names for probably at least 2 more months.
We're heading upstairs to play some games with the neighbors. Good times!

4!!
Today is my last day of work before the wedding and I don't think that a work day has ever gone so slow. It doesn't help that it has been very slow here at the ol' bank. I have been itching to leave since I got here and secretly hoped that they would send me home early. No such luck though. I've only got two more hours, so I think I can hold out that much longer.
My branch manager and teller supervisor bought me a gift certificate to Victoria's Secret. I am so surprised and touched by their nice gesture. Should I go shopping now?? Or wait until after we get back?? Decisions, decisions!!
Drew called Jeff at the American Center (where the reception is at) today and found out that we will be able to get in there on Friday and decorate. Yay!!! I have a nail appointment set for Friday at 11 and I'm debating on if I should move that appointment to earlier, or even later, depending on when we should go decorate. Decisions, decisions
